Lace Bryant and her mother, Dawn, move to a small Texas town for a fresh start, but Lace’s dangerous obsession with control quickly resurfaces when she becomes fixated on the town pastor, Tim Shepard. After stealing his wallet during a brief encounter, she uses it to insert herself into his life —researching him, seducing her way into his home as a dog walker, and volunteering at his church—all while secretly plotting to get pregnant and unalive his wife, Mauvie.

As Lace begins eliminating anyone who threatens her plan, suspicion grows in the quiet town, but she's always one step ahead—until a rejected advance leads to an accident where Mauvie hits her with an SUV.

Even hospitalized, Lace remains relentless, eventually escaping and confronting Mauvie in a chilling final scene—armed, unhinged, and dressed in Mauvie’s "First Lady" Sunday wardrobe — leaving the town of Euless on the edge of terror and turmoil.
